@hilljam@mastodon.social YES this has been my experience on Twitter as well: following people is fine but as soon as you try to interact with high-traffic people, you are usually ignored or only 'liked', which is an entirely empty reaction. Also: counting likes, retweets etc., just makes your monkey brain focus on the numbers. Here, there is entirely no pressure, and REAL interaction.

@hilljam@mastodon.social Hah I just noticed I was wrong: repeats and favorites are counted here as well 🤣 Oh well, it just goes to show it's not important here, your eyes and focus drift more towards what people are actually saying.
