@decathorpe@mastodon.social @cassidy@mastodon.blaede.family I have the same, GNOME Weather on Ubuntu shows my location ~150 km away. MacOS and Windows don’t have this problem.

@szymonzielonka@mas.to @decathorpe@mastodon.social right, because Apple and Microsoft operate their own proprietary database of SSIDs, cell towers, and GPS coordinates to provide this service. Mozilla just announced they are shutting down their service, meaning we don’t have *any* open method for location services, now—good OR bad. So we have to fall back to GeoIP which is even more awful when it comes to accuracy.
