It's hard to put into words how much I love Lake Superior. I love her probably as much as some people love their actual mothers. Lake Superior contains 10% of the entire world's fresh water, and the locals know how precious that is. She is the lifeblood of the entire region; ecologically and economically. We owe her our existence here, and she claims around 6 lives per year. If that isn't the description of a deity, I don't know what is.
