@inket@mastodon.social Everything about the healthcare system in the US is great except for the way it's funded. My experience with healthcare in Japan (20 years ago) was fairly bad, but at least it didn't bankrupt me.
How are you liking the US beyond healthcare?

@armadsen@mastodon.social I think US healthcare is probably a lot worse outside of blue states/big cities and when you're not a high earner. So while the "best" experience might be better than Japan in some ways, the "worst" experience is likely unimaginable there.

@armadsen@mastodon.social US has been good. It helps that I'm fluent in English and people can't tell I'm a foreigner. High income and blue state also help a lot. Wife is US citizen with great credit score and driving history so it gave me a good starting point and affordable auto insurance.
