@profoundlynerdy@bitbang.social I rather doubt it. I did try the obvious stupid thing: writing the CC1101frequency registers fast enough to fake FM. It was dreadful. Throwing the carrier about produced unpredictable harmonics, and the chip needed to be “pre-heated” or it would drift after a short 100% duty cycle. Very valve wireless, much wow. Even at its best, the update rate was poor enough to be ornamental.

    @profoundlynerdy@bitbang.social The routine was: stop it, retune it, wait for the PLL, start it again, and repeat until morale collapsed. FT8 (on flipper!) was no better. The 6.25 baud symbol rate is easy enough; the awkward bit is that FT8 wants 6.25 Hz tone spacing, while the CC1101 moves in roughly 1 kHz lumps. So that went nowhere. I expect a better hack is just around the corner?
