When I was a Baby Trans my goal was to pass, and never be thought of as trans. This was pretty normal thinking for the 90's. Being visibly queer was dangerous, never-mind being visibly #transgender ("transsexual" back then), but it wasn't just that. I think many (most?) of us were ashamed of being trans. Looking back, I see that for the internalized transphobia it was. #lgbtqia #PrideMonth 🧵1/2
