@TimothyRoes@mastodon.social I don't think that our IT department is to blame here. I rather have the impression that the Matrix stack is pretty low-quality software.

@hweimer@fediscience.org I have seen several complaints like yours over the last few weeks. At the same time, several governments (France, Germany, Belgium, EU Commission) have chosen #Matrix for their own internal communications apps, so I'm assuming it can't be *that* bad?

At least for us (connect2x) and https://tammy.connect2x.de Your issue sounds like an expired access token in combination with bad timing, where the key backup hasn't been fully uploaded yet. Or maybe just a bug in your Matrix Client. It is always easy to blame Open Source Software, but at the end you should consider, that @matrix@mastodon.matrix.org is not maintained by multi billion tech companies. Instead it is monstly maintained by a few small companies and a huge amount of volonteers. If you have a problem with Open Source, stop to rant and help to make it better.
