@Shauna I think not seeing the favourite counts on posts in your timeline has something to do with how federation is slower to propagate them, but I'm not sure. I need to learn more about the tech. But faving doesn't cost anything and there's no algorithm for them to influence so I'm being very generous with them! It's basically just a quick way to send a "good post!" notification to the author. Sometimes I'll check out the profiles of people faving my posts and follow them.
