Some vloggers I follow are singing the praises of travel in China (mainland), citing not only the advanced tech everywhere you look, but also the incredibly high level of customer service. I've always thought one reason for that was that China firmly believes in Full Employment: everyone has a job, there are jobs for everyone, and naturally a lot of those jobs are in hospitality. I don't know enough to know if those are actually good paying jobs, but one can assume they're certainly better than the tip-dependent, private equity-gutted, kleptocratic system of the West in general and the US in particular. You treat people well, they do a good job. Imagine that.
