Just a reminder that in English , "then" is to do with time or order of things, and "than" is comparative. This is important for sayings like "It is better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees." Because of you change that to "then" it's just nonsense.
Also, chairs don't have any gender in English. Phew! You just use "the" for everything!
