@feditips@mstdn.social Centralized solutions always work better. As evidenced by your "solution" being basically useless to most people while theirs isn't. And the "fediverse" is already semi-centralized. How are privately maintained verification lists any different?

    @feditips@mstdn.social @Mickenfox@mastodon.online “centralised solutions always work better” [citation needed] Having multiple browser adblock lists in existence was good - when one sold out to advertisers to allow “responsible” ads, I could switch to others. Mastodon’s insistence on federation and decentralisation draws on a long line of thinking about the problems of centralisation and the risks of capture.     @feditips@mstdn.social @Mickenfox@mastodon.online I’m not sure “always” is true here, but certainly centralisation is typically an easy way to establish authority, and that’s important when discussing authentication.
