The caveat of course is that studded tires help a lot, but are still no match for snirt and black ice, so you'll still want to avoid those.
Finding safe, consistently cleared routes is the hardest part, at least here in #yeg
But take it slow, get a feel for things, and you'll find yourself enjoying the ride sooner than you realize!

@Daveography@yeg.bike True. And while Calgary has amazing bike paths, there are times when riding on the road with traffic in inevitable. Those are the times that spook me from winter riding. I've had many misses with vehicles on *dry* roads. I don't feel good sharing the road when it's slick.
