@sushee@ohai.social I don't really use "word processing" very much, as I'm more likely to use a professional graphic design page layout program (Scribus works OK, if I don't actually need Adobe InDesign), but LibreOffice Draw is really useful for lightweight CAD drafting, and I probably use that and Calc 150x more often than I eve open Writer. GNU Image is usually enough for my minimal retouching needs, but I'm still more comfortable in Photoshop.

@gcvsa@mstdn.plus ahahaha that list requires that you have a whole range of Qt AND Gtk libraries which is IMHO the hardest part of "stripping down" a system. It's a LOT easier with servers than with sophisticated userland software. in that case I would stick with mint honestly and just try to not use a full gnome in particular (if cinnamon works well to your liking? I wasn't super happy with it but that was on ubuntu)
