Reinstalled Asahi Linux (Baremetal) on a MacBook Pro M1 after uninstalling it 2 years ago. A lot has changed! The computer no longer cooks under simple tasks. I strongly suspect it was software rending on the graphics driver in the past. Videos play nice, multitasking feels great. The speakers also sound like they've had some optimisations. Battery life seems good (will likely get 8-9 hours of use, but will report back on that). As suspected, Touch ID doesn't work (not a biggie to me).
