@galacticstone@mastodon.social I’ve always been irked by the fact that “futuristic” displays were always big, bulky, and heavy in “futuristic” illustrations. Star Trek was somewhat guilty of this in The Original Series, but the “Communicator” came to life as the “flip phone” and ultimately the Motorola RAZR, and the tablets in ST:TNG inspired the iPhone / iPad, etc.
