Kinda makes sense that a guy who's paid almost no income tax for years has no idea how taxes work. His wealth comes from investments and is not taxed as income, or even at all until he liquidates some of it.

Also, he's talking as if every taxpayer in the state is taxed at 37%. You're only taxed that high on income over $626k per year. If you're married, it's only that high for income over $751k combined with your spouse. Almost nobody in any state is being taxed that high on any of their income.
