Last night I released MEGAWARP, a new display sans serif steeped in the visual language of sci-fi.
It is a new twist on the “laser beam” lettering you may have seen in film titles like Blade Runner, where a horizontal line of negative space slices through the upper portion of each letter.
In Megawarp, these slices move around opportunistically, playing with the effect of fragmentation on legibility and style.
Prepare for warp speed!

Things start to get really funky in the lowercase, where the default form of ‘e’ looks like a ‘z’, and the default form of ‘a‘ looks like a stylized ‘3’. But I think it kinda works in context?

@djrrb@mastodon.social Really enjoyed the write-up and the message about doing something fun when you need a reset. The font also reminds me a bit of The Designers Republic, in a good way 👍👍
