@chrisjrn@social.coop @kyle@mastodon.kylerank.in to me, this explains everything why the corporate world embraced LLM coding so eagerly: this is just how they look at software. The approach of careful, sustainable development doesn't work there. It's only in open-source where you'd find 20, 30-year old projects still going strong.

@isagalaev@mastodon.social @chrisjrn@social.coop There have been plenty of high-profile rewrites over the years in Open Source too. I remember when CORBA was the key to sustainable architecture for GNOME, or should I say, the GNU Network Object Model Environment.
