@kyle@mastodon.kylerank.in Yeah, I think I agree that rewrites will become more likely. I think the second-order costs (reintegration, adjusting to a new system design) are unlikely to change, and the question is going to be how people adjust to the resulting (and increased) instability.
The key difference: the second-order costs of fast fashion are all externalised; with reimplementation, it's felt directly by the consumer.
