@anakin78z@mograph.social I doubt either one wants to do play-by-play. That format is probably for people who aren’t as into the sport but more about stories and personalities.
Kinda like people only paying attention when it’s a US national team match because without the nationalism it’s somehow not as meaningful to them.

@stephaniepixie@fandom.garden oh totally, but just like with the color commentary in regular broadcasts, I think being able to still hear the game makes a big difference.
