Getting a #MacBook to use on its own - great. Today I'm reminded - using it as a desktop... not so much, unless you use #Apple peripherals too like their official display and trackpad/mouse. Fortunately, keyboard's unaffected by this #macOS incompetence. For trackpads - sure, Apple's is the best I've used still and is something I'll always buy and use, happily. Display - nah, even if they're affordable. They're just too limited and I'd go just as nuts if I was using a #Dell laptop and u tell me I can ONLY use Dell monitors, gross. All in all, as nice as it is Apple's Macs are, macOS is a hot mess.
