The Maze at Gelston Castle as the sun sinks towards the horizon. Completed c.1805 by William Douglas (a plantation owner, rumoured to have amassed his fortune by privateering), near Castle Douglas in Galloway.

@DarkGalloway@mastodon.scot Indeed he almost certainly did. The nascent US gave out letters of marque to help them defend their coasts , and he was amount those who benefited from that.
