@Steve@social.coop are the original PDF actual text PDFs or just scanned documents? In the latter case you'll need some OCR tool

@oblomov@sociale.network ocrmypdf works great, or at least as well as anything else does on a scanned document. But, it can only "see" the text itself, not the format. And even then, the text isn't necessarily in the order that it appears in on the page.
