Firstly, thank you! But this episode made me cry! I thought I was shouting into the void! I mean, hell, I still am shouting into the void half the time, but I deeply wish, deeply wish, instead of people trying to put something out like it's a product, I want to have more spaces like an all inclusive writers retreat where every kind of artist can go when they need community and need to get away from a capitalistic life. work. Even readers that want to have content instead of art, but there's no funding for those kinds of spaces because, frankly, our leaders honestly simply don't like artists. Certainly not enough to give us what we need/want. But this is also honestly why I've stopped criticizing peoples usage of an LLM because they feel like they don't have a choice because of capitalistic demands. To make this problem moot, the concept of a Drafty Writer’s Group, like the one I created, needs to happen, yes, with recovering prompters. It annoys me because writing grants are given to the ones that already show potential, but the ones that use the LLM need support, but support in a far different way than what we provide now. The private writing grants given to those based on promise or talent or selection isn't strong enough nor good enough. I want to have writers apply for a government grant and they get funded, even if they have half a chapter written, and they get lodging, and support, without judgment of what they make. @craignicol@glasgow.social @alex@dair-community.social @emilymbender@dair-community.social @404media@flipboard.com @samleecole@journa.host

@WeirdWriter@caneandable.social @alex@dair-community.social @emilymbender@dair-community.social @404media@flipboard.com @samleecole@journa.host our leaders don't like artists because they hate truth and they loathe accountability. LLMs churn out empty platitudes of all media forms that don't challenge authority, that don't make anyone uncomfortable and never leave the well trodden cis straight white man path. It's perfectly demonstrated by the upscaling tech that had a blurry picture of Obama as input and upscaled it to a white guy. Art without elbows gets trampled.
