I've been re-learning Hill Runes by Peter Maxwell Davies, a solo guitar piece I performed on my second graduate recital in 2009. It's been a total trip. Part of me is flummoxed I was *ever* able to play the piece; then, suddenly, something just *clicks* and my hands remember the painstaking choreography we rehearsed endless times nearly fourteen years ago. It's an incredible feeling, akin to mind-melding with a past self. I've changed much in the intervening time, and yet, there I am.
