@aarbrk@mstdn.mx @alan@en.osm.town @amapanda@en.osm.town only the Catholics weren't necessarily the landowners, but I dont know whether the people owning the land or the people working the land named the fields.

@BUnicycling@mastodon.ie @alan@en.osm.town @amapanda@en.osm.town If I'm not mistaken, Catholic corporations such as the Archdiocese of Santiago de Compostela did own a lot of the Galician minifundios. But I have no source at hand on this.
