@art_of_goulwenr@mastodon.art I sadly only know Valerian from the Luc Besson Movie which is entertaining but not on the same level as the fifth element or the Taxi Movies.
I read about that Star Wars seems to, at least, be heavily influenced by the books of a French comic artist, but I didn't knew, it was the Valerian publication. It's a series I'm looking for for quite some time, now I finally have a name and another reason to look, if I can find a print somewhere around here.

@AnnaSaultron@nerdculture.de the movie wasn’t that bad but it missed that little thing that made the books so good: notably, Valerian is almost always clueless, and it’s often Laureline who saves the day — or when it’s Valerian it’s mostly unintentionally. Also the books have rarely a typical villain… unless it’s a human. If you can find them, don’t hesitate, I’m pretty sure you will enjoy them !
