Have you ever heard a priest or pastor say something like "they even call their celebration PRIDE and that's one of the seven deadly sins!"
I have. Language was used to categorically dismiss queerness as something unholy.
But I've learned that when queer people talk about pride, it is not the same thing as the theologian means. Queer pride is the counterpoint to - and the antidote for - shame.

@annyr@fidelis.social Yes. And also, most of them don't really believe in the good kind of pride, either. Not pride in yourself, in any case. They're too busy preaching self-denial, subservience, and spiritual colonialism to have any understanding of individual or community pride.
