@globalc@chaos.social Oh, I thought you were trying to pass your power monitor thing through; if you want something in the guest that looks like a serial almost, but connects to something on the host, then try the 'add serial' or 'add channel' - those both give you options of what to connect to, e.g. a host pty or host unix socket; then you can run whatever you like on those.

@penguin42@mastodon.org.uk I see, might have to clarify that part in the article. The Power-Z is great, but not helping with the VMs in particular. But the idea is to basically provide the consumption metric to the guest by the same means as the Power-Z does to the host. And not like RAPL in hard to emulate way, pinned down to x86, but with USB being flexible and universal over architectures.
