@arossp@mastodon.social How many libs does that own? Also that seems classic libertarian. Current Libertarian Party thought seems to be you have a God-given right for the government to protect you from disfavored groups they don't like.

@Popehat@mastodon.social @arossp@mastodon.social Well, you nailed the distinction. Powell is a "classical liberal" in the lines of Koch and their Cato Institute. They profess to be socially liberal & financially conservative. However, in my experience (which is as real as it is regrettable), they are also egotists who use Randian philosophy to attempt to justify their "morals". And, yes, many of them voted for Trump because they (strongly) value conservative economics over social liberalism ... and justice ... and decency.

@Popehat@mastodon.social @arossp@mastodon.social There is no group more hateful to a libertarian than the Libertarian Party, though. It is known. (Well, except possibly the Mises Caucus specifically.)
