The book has well-written characters (well, mostly - sometimes the characters go from 0 to 100 in their reactions, and it feels like an improbable overreaction /wo knowing more about the characters).
The main character of the story is particularly well written. Though, for a short novel she also naturally gets the most flesh-out history. I suppose what flaws that exist mostly come down to how fast-paced the story is, and how small the book is.

The book does quite well in exploring a future alternative society built on solarpunk ideals. It's very practically oriented, and you get a good feeling for this future society, its challenges as well as its strengths. It's also a work that strongly tries to engage with many of the leading issues of our time. Not by talking about the issues so much directly, but focusing more on the solutions that this future comes up with in order to tackle the issues. 3/4
