and it's striking to me that we have this image of the great white shark as amongst the fiercest of predators, and massive, a ruler of the seas
and yet we have this other creature that treats them like squeaky toys

Not the boat itself, not the people in it. Just the rudder. And just the sharks' livers. They're terribly wasteful eaters, orcas.
