@onpaperwings@typo.social @mwichary@mastodon.online I love the term. This is something missing from many fonts: big punctuation marks that look outsized with lowercase. Some typefaces have those great lowercase parentheses!

@onpaperwings@typo.social @mwichary@mastodon.online I have no idea, but now I've heard the term I'm thinking that it should be used to distinguish between very clearly "et"-derived ampersands ("lowercase") and the more stylised modern variants ("uppercase").
