@douginamug@mastodon.xyz I think it might be related to english's complicated pronunciation. I mean there are some rules to it but often enough you have to remember it for individual words. Now if you mash them together, people won't know how to pronounce the new word, or might do it in a way that doesn't resemble the syllables of the original words at all.
