super rare and useful Anatolian hieroglyph discovered: 𔐰 hand held open, pointing left with symbols looking like "IC" above and below a.k.a. "I see, I see", for a weary, neutral but still affirmative response🤌 U+14430

Say I wanted to make a kinetic light sculpture (I do) (Think CCC, see https://hansleser.de/) Say that required turning something with ~5 KG of weight at about 1 rpm. What tech would you use? Bonus points if I can salvage it somehow.

I think my favorite thing about German is the abundance of "syllabic contractions" e.g. Solawi ⬅️ Solidarisches Landwirtschaft (solidarity agriculture) I feel it's way more common in English to make "letter acronyms" e.g. CSA ⬅️ Community Supported Agriculture The German approach makes it much easier to have "nice" new words.

It sums up why I generally think it isn't desirable or possible to have orgs where all members have the same power/autonomy: I am a member of way too many orgs to take top-level responsibility in all of them!

Listened to this podcast with author of book "Don't talk about politics" Dr Sarah Stein Lubrano. https://api.substack.com/feed/podcast/189991441/e888cad16e3c5835d2a100dc101d783c.mp3 (yes, I know the platform is bad) Basically confirms what I felt was true: politically debating strangers is useless if not counterproductive. What does is friendship and experience. But further: forming friendships with people outside of our comfort zone is a social skill that can be tra...

RE: https://tldr.nettime.org/@dk/116283379156611340 This is genius and hilarious "in a world looming with the threat of ai stealing your job, save humanity by stealing ai's job."

"What if all governance is onboarding?" https://enfascination.com/weblog/post/2857 The title is the thesis, but the detail is worth reading. Kind of reminds me of CAP theorem, except for people https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAP_theorem
