@forestfern@mastodon.social Yes! Last year, we got to watch her dig a hole for her eggs, though we didn't actually see any eggs nor see any young later on. We also occasionally get young turkeys with their mom and fawns. My wife isn't too happy when young garden snakes appear in the basement window wells, ha ha.

    @MikeyU@gardenstate.social Major Yikes! (just like your wife). Then again, it's a good sign that you have snakes to remove rodents. One year I enjoyed watching a snapping turtle dig & lay her eggs. It was in a rather public spot so I worried about the little ones. This year, I finally spotted her again, on the shore in a more wooded area. I'm a little happy that people won't find her & her eggs but I won't be able to see the progress. Oh well.
