Today I just learned that Javascript uses the mantissas of NaNs as its pointers to Object instances (this is perfectly fine and kosher according to IEEE 754, non-zero mantissas are what separate NaN's from Infinities and there is nothing in the standard restricting creative uses of NaN mantissas) and I think I have finally stumbled upon a genuinely cursed bit of Javascript that makes me genuinely uncomfortable. What the fuck was Brendan Eich smoking back in 1995 when he did that!?
