As for my writing process, I can divide it into two phases. The first lasted decades, involving several attempts to write novels without ever managing to finish anything decent. The second phase began spontaneously following my diagnosis. I started writing to take stock of my life, as a sort of therapy. Before long, I realized I had gathered more than enough material to put together a book. It was an epiphany! (2/3)

I realized I was never meant to be a novelist, but an essayist instead. From that moment on, everything became easier. It was still laborious, of course, as results require daily consistency. Did it benefit my mental health? Absolutely. It is a life experience everyone should have. Gaining perspective on who you are, where you come from, and where you want to go, especially once you reach midlife or beyond, puts everything in a different light. (3/3) @f_o_tistic@autistics.life
