Yanno, maybe these social media bans for kids will be better than we think.
Because it’s not going to stop kids from socializing online. It’s just going to keep it farther from their parents’ and teachers’ eyes, and it’s going to be so frustrating for them that they won’t learn to not use “social media”, they will build their own ways and be all that much closer to tearing down the world we’ve already ruined for them and building one that’s going to suit them better.

@johannab@cosocial.ca The other day I bumped into a news flash telling how it is becoming trendy among GenZ kids in the US to go fully offline. I am in the Netherlands and this weekend I was cycling next to this hipster kid on a skateboard and was astounded to see a big yellow Sony Sports walkman proudly dangling from their belt, with a wired headphones. Our kids are taking up the fight against the inhumane tech warez their parents helped create :D Let's hope the trend continues and spreads! :boosts_appreciated:
