@Niall@mastodon.nz @aral@mastodon.ar.al There was all that stuff about bankrupting the Coutts-Burdett Bank back in the day, and I don't know who had what over whom later when the Balfour Declaration was made. The prosecution of the Palestine Action barrister reminds me of the malicious prosecution of Witness K and his lawyer Bernard Collaery over the Australian government spying on the East Timorese government as they were negotiating the settlement of the Timor Sea Dispute, which was a filthy piece of work.

@zl2tod@mastodon.online @aral@mastodon.ar.al I don't know much about any of those but I don't doubt they suck. This is the first time that I can recall that I truly have no faith in the core of the UK justice system. As the son of a (seemingly) honest and well meaning lawyer I had previously believed in the justice system and laws. Sure, there were bad apples and miscarriages of justice but shit goes wrong in every walk of life sometimes. Never have I seen overt orders from the top to tip the scales. It's horrible, like the first time you're in an earthquake and you realise even foundations can move.
