@phil_stevens@mastodon.nz so I inexpertly fiddled with the truss rod. Then I took a look under the cover by the bridge and found a 9V battery. It failed the tongue test so I put a new one in and now we have sounds! Big, gritty, reverby fun sounds. The action's little better but the results are much more fun :) I think I'll get it professionally setup so I know a good baseline. My adjustments are blind poking in the dark.
