I honestly don't think these entitled gits have the slightest awareness of what utter knobs they are. They are living in a bubble. They have zero awareness of what life is like for folks who don't own 5,000 hectares of land stolen from Indigenous folk. There are 30 million other people living in this country but that doesn't always register for the 1%.

@ewen@social.ewenbell.com so let me get this: the polluting Epstein class shithead will be messing with more gullible victims elsewhere... So what's the threat?

@ewen@social.ewenbell.com leaners would rather fuck off out of Australia than help lift the country up. Easy enough to update the laws to prevent as much foreign ownership to fuck this bullshit up. Imagine of we ran a US style personal tax pattern - if you have citizenship, you pay taxez.

@ewen@social.ewenbell.com Let the billionaires eat emigration. They make a lot of noise, but would be loathe to actually do it. Predictably, they would move themselves only for tax, legal and accounting purposes. Personally, they would remain to enjoy the safety and protection of their home country, which they despise having to pay for.

@ewen@social.ewenbell.com We’ve been learning this in the US a lot recently. Especially when NYC elected Mamdani as mayor. “If Mamdani gets elected, I’ll leave New York!” Me: “You promise?”
