Sunday morning #headlines recap Editor’s note: I’m not going try to cover all of the provocative things Tucker said in his NPR interview, although I will say that his assertion that Israeli leaders intentionally wanted US bases in the area destroyed was puzzling if true. Feel free to add your takes in the comments. Fresh on the heels of Trump’s out of hand dismissal of Iran’s proposal to reopen the strait: IRGC runs the largest anti-ship wave of the war, with sustained missile, drone and fast-attack-boat activity through Saturday night. Mines are also back on the Omani route. “Bombing resumes after the midterms” according to Trump. RAF Fairford: major incident, trespassers arrested on explosives charges, base at highest alert level. The base hosts USAF B-1B bombers. As a part of Xi’s visit to Washington, the two countries sign a proclamation scolding Iran: "no country or institution can be allowed to impose tolls on international waterways". Analysts note the hypocrisy given Beijing claims the Taiwan Strait as sovereign waters while signing language on Hormuz. Riyadh: Parents received last-minute school messages Sunday shifting all in-person classes to remote for the week; "We have just been informed by Saudi authorities that schools must remain closed all week". No official reason was published. It follows several days of drone and missile threats over the capital and flights diverting from Riyadh. The government used AI-generated images to try to blame it on weather conditions. Russia: 335 drones in 24 hours across two waves took out three of Kiev’s five data centers. Ukrainian TV channels are going dark as a direct result. Meanwhile Ukraine gets no new Patriot missiles from US and Ukrainian steel mills are crippled, putting 22,000 out of work. I guess Ukraine will have to resort to the old tried and true methods of dropping leaflets from airplanes to get their propaganda messages out to citizens. Ukraine’s government-backed United24 project offered former US service members thousands of dollars to produce pro-Ukraine videos for American audiences, RT’s America Now has found. The offers targeted veterans whose military backgrounds could make the message seem more credible to viewers. At this point if some personality or product leads with muh military veteran I’m immediately uninterested. Cuba planning is moving from rhetoric to logistics. US Army reportedly checking troop availability with air force units on high alert, CBS-sourced internal communications suggesting forces could be needed within 90-120 days. Trump not being retarded for 5 minutes challenge: IMPOSSIBLE. On Monday, a horse named Austrian Painter won a race in Indiana. By Wednesday, the horse had been renamed after the Internet figured out it was a reference to Adolf Hitler. “It’s a big stain on the industry” said one pearl-clutcher. One of our fedi bros has race horses?!? I’ll keep an eye out for good news stories; otherwise have a good Sunday frens…

@jb@nicecrew.digital Israelis want US bases hit because they want some heavy US casualties to inspire a wave of patriotic rage like that after 9-11, increasing support for another forever war. Problem is no one gives a shit about what happens in the middle east, not even US troops getting iced.

    >RAF Fairford: major incident, trespassers arrested on explosives charges, base at highest alert level. The base hosts USAF B-1B bombers. Having bases in Muslim countries is generally a bad idea. >Ukraine’s government-backed United24 project offered former US service members thousands of dollars to produce pro-Ukraine videos for American audiences, RT’s America Now has found. The offers targeted veterans whose military backgrounds could make the message seem more credible to viewers. I don't care what sandbox shenanigans these vets got into, the very fact that the war is still grinding on nearly 5 years now shows that Ukraine is nowhere near "victory". >Cuba planning is moving from rhetoric to logistics. US Army reportedly checking troop availability with air force units on high alert, CBS-sourced internal communications suggesting forces could be needed within 90-120 days. On one hand the blockade imposed since the Eisenhower Administration hasn't had the desired effect, but on the other I don't trust the US military of 2026 of actually achieving regime change in Cuba. It's going to be really fun watching Trump start another war in the middle of an impending impeachment.

  • >I will say that his assertion that Israeli leaders intentionally wanted US bases in the area destroyed was puzzling if true I have heard this elsewhere. It goes to hubris and wanting a free hand, I think. Similar to them killing journalists in Gaza. No Crime too much if people don't see it. Also, their satraps, like the Gulf States might be getting too uppity. They want them undefended.

@jb@nicecrew.digital >> I will say that his assertion that Israeli leaders intentionally wanted US bases in the area destroyed was puzzling if true. Feel free to add your takes in the comments. Ok look at this from this angle; the bombing of the oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia the other week had shots and damage too precise to have been made by the sand people, but had the hallmark of the empire's storm troopers, nobody in the zone claimer authorship with some kike paper saying it was the Houthis, and later claiming that it was some group from Iraq... Not hard to add 2+2 = jews, they are making the situation in the region completely untenable as to force the hand of the USA into Israel pants and give them a good wank, then drink the ju-ju cum and be a good goy and go die for Israel and destroy Iran for them. That is all there is to it. This is like plan "D" for the jews. If bombing Iran (plan A) didn't work, and plan B bringing down the regime causing a coup using agents on the ground didn't work and plan C, economic pressure doesn't work, then plan D, forcing the hand of the USA will work, and if not they probably have plans E, F, G, etc until they start back with plan A1, A2, etc. The objective is the destruction of Iran and these people are fully committed, that they will take down the USA or the west or the entire planet with them is something they will make plans on how to take advantage later. We can't live with these people.

@jb@nicecrew.digital We did it on purpose. It went exactly as we wanted it to go. We're proud of ourselves. We're going to do it AGAIN.

  • >As a part of Xi’s visit to Washington, the two countries sign a proclamation scolding Iran: "no country or institution can be allowed to impose tolls on international waterways". Strait of Hormuz is 21 miles wide. Territorial waters extend to 12 miles. The entire strait is either Iranian or Omani territorial water. It's not an "international waterway". Legally the proclamation does not apply to Hormuz.
