I have heard this elsewhere. It goes to hubris and wanting a free hand, I think. Similar to them killing journalists in Gaza. No Crime too much if people don't see it. Also, their satraps, like the Gulf States might be getting too uppity. They want them undefended.

They're also working to kick the Irish out of lebanon, which... yes please. All we've achieved there is having a few of our lads killed in israeli "accidents" every time they get pissed off with the Irish government for something.
