I get the "no screens" policy for younger kids, but let me tell you, that doesn't work past a certain age. My daughter is used to it, so she gets bored from screens after a while, and she is also able to divide her attention at screen + knitting for instance. But whenever one of her friends from school come for a playdate, they seem hypnotized by the TV and other tech in our home, it's so strange for me 😂 I just think prohibiting screens is useless and leads to a kind of blind fascination.
