@kirkmurphy.bsky.social Because we can't read minds, our instinct is to judge others by what we observe -- while we judge ourselves by our own inner motives, because we know them. That unequal justice is understandable, but it's a thinking error. Theory of Mind affords us some semblance of insight into others' motives, but not actual knowledge. There's myriad possible reasons, and we cannot know them, so we should avoid leaping to conclusions, without more and better evidence.
