@cks@mastodon.social @furicle@mastodon.social maybe big companies would actually want the serial number to work correctly in edid so they could do asset management? Or maybe nobody cares.

@philiph@hachyderm.io @furicle@mastodon.social Now I'm wondering where most of the Lenovo monitors are sold, and also how many other monitors have had fixed serials since the start (so businesses have never built up the pressure to make them all work, since their asset management has never been able to trust those serials).
