@fdrc_ck@calckey.social I personally view federation as a great opportunity for growth: it means people can create different types of models, businesses and instances, and still be part of the greater universe. That fosters innovation. At the same time those need to make it easy to be successful. I think the more centralised signup makes sense: those who care can find other instances. Those who just want to give it a go will pop on mastodon.social.
