@paco@infosec.exchange 683 lumens = 1 watt of visible radiant power
So that would require at least:
1×10¹⁵ / 683 ≈ 1.46×10¹² watts
That is 1.46 terawatts of visible light
Hiroshima yield was about 15 kilotons TNT, roughly 6.3×10¹³ joules
So if this ridiculous lamp emitted its claimed lumens for 6.3×10¹³ J / 1.46×10¹² W
every 43 seconds it would emit a Hiroshima bomb’s worth of energy in visible light alone, under the most generous possible physics.
So... the sidewalk would... be on fire?

@paco@infosec.exchange you could try to protect your sidewalk with say, a mirror or a main battle tank which would protect the sidewalk till they boiled off.

@MrsMouse@social.dsmouse.net So an Imperial fuckton, then? I think Imperial fucktons are like 2.6 metric fucktons. (Hysterical! Thanks for doing the silly math!)

@MrsMouse@social.dsmouse.net @paco@infosec.exchange and it’s all powered by that relatively small, but I guess mind bogglingly efficient solar panel!
