I started working on making the Swing UI for Kap useful. The world of UI development has gone backward for the last... well... 20 years? And I've come to realise that using any UI framework that originated on this side of the millennium is actively worse than using an older one. It's remarkable how refreshing it is to use a GUI API which is designed with actual GUI's in mind, and not an overengineered document model. How did it get so wrong? #programming #gui
